www.egg.com- Make Balance Transfer



Once you've successfully applied for your card and accepted your agreement online you must wait for your card to arrive.

Once you receive your card, you just need to activate it by logging in to 'your accounts' where we automatically take you through a simple activation process.

Only when you've activated your card can you arrange balance transfers, get cash advances and make purchases.

You can transfer balances up to 95% of your available credit limit from your credit or store cards, loans or overdrafts. Each balance must be a minimum of £100. You can check the maximum transfer amount available to you on the balance transfer screen when you log in to 'your accounts'. You can transfer a balance now online - log in to 'your accounts' and select the 'Move money' tab. You'll then need to select the option to 'Make a balance transfer to your Egg Card' and follow the instructions.

Please note, as an added security measure we use payment verification to protect your account. This involves using text messages to verify online balance transfer requests, so you'll need to have a valid mobile number registered with us. To avoid any delays, we strongly recommend you check and, if needed, update your mobile number at least 48 hours before requesting an online balance transfer. To do this log in to 'your accounts' and select the 'Personal details' tab at the top of the page. If your mobile number is not up-to-date and you need to request a balance transfer urgently, please call us on 0845 122 9216 to request your transfer over the phone.

Check out the table below to see the information you'll need to have to hand to make a balance transfer.

Transfer from: What you'll need:
Credit and charge cards Card number (found across the middle of the card)
Loan Sort code, account number, reference/roll number and account name (if known)
Overdraft and store cards Sort code, account number and reference/roll number (if applicable) and account name


It is not possible to make a balance transfer between your Egg credit cards, or from your Egg credit card to your Egg Loan or Egg Savings Account.

Remember, you must continue to make your usual repayments to each card, overdraft or loan account until you're sure the transfer has been applied to your account. We will make sure the payment is received by the other bank within three business days, if the transfer request is received before 2pm on a business day, otherwise, it will take four business days. If you request a balance transfer online, this timescale is subject to you having a valid mobile number registered with us and starts when you've successfully completed our online payment verification checks.
